Requests for Teams

Summer with the Library outreach events

Summer with the Library events are organized by the Deschutes Public Library with partners like OSU Nutrition and Bend Parks and Rec. We are attempting to target working families and vulnerable populations. Many are at Housing Works complexes.

The therapy dog team will provide a positive interaction with interested people. Kind of along the lines of a face-painter at a fair. Only free. And potentially more rewarding. The events will be outdoors and some will have a musician or other performers. Each team stationed with the library may have kids read to a dog. Bring two chairs and a blanket for kids to sit on. There may be other dogs at these locations so therapy dog teams should stay near the library’s location during the time volunteering.

Rimrock Chaparral and Kiwanis Park would welcome a second therapy dog team. To volunteer contact Jennifer Horsman at

Hospice of Redmond

I am the volunteer coordinator at Hospice of Redmond and we are looking to certify pet-therapy teams to support patients and families as they journey toward death.
